I am so happy! I just received my letter in my email stating that I have passed my National Board Renewal! It is so much work to do this while you are working a full time job, but it all paid off. :)
Thanks to all of the well-wishers on my journey! :) Mrs. Massey

Today I took part in the third day of my STEM journey. I took a test and didn't do so bad on it either. :) Everyone can learn something new. :)
Today I am so thrilled! I finally finished the last portion of revamping everything for our new 6th Grade SC Science Standards to share with my friends in the county. While I work for two weeks in the summer creating items for the science curriculum committee, there is never enough time or money to pay me for the other things that must be created to go along with them. I made a promise to myself that I would work very hard this year and create quality items that not only I could use, but my HCS 6th grade colleagues could use as well. I am excited to know that not only is the Weebly that I work on used by the county people, but it is actually being used nationally. It makes me happy to help other people do what I love to do--TEACH!
We had our second STEM meeting. I am learning a lot about math and science combined. I am very happy for this opportunity. :)
I was so elated today to begin taking part in the Coastal Carolina and HCS Science Math Partnership Grant! It was a great opportunity to work with other teachers and hone our craft!
I was so excited to find out that myself and my math counterpart on my team were selected to participate in a grant out of Coastal Carolina teamed up with HCS Math/Science to participate in STEM activities and training. This is a great opportunity to work in a real setting with teachers across the district and at the college level to practice how we can better reach kids! The grant allows us to have two days off during the school year with paid substitutes in order for us to go to the STEM day-long sessions. It also allows us to go to CCU in the summer for two weeks with pay. Overall, it is already something that I feel very blessed for! :)
I recently presented with two other HCS colleagues (Pamela A. Lesley and Kerri E. Quick) at the national level in Austin, Texas, at the AMLE Conference. It was a wonderful experience. Working with small groups and using technology and data-driven decisions is something that I love and excel at. Take a moment and check out what our presentation was composed of. :) It was a great chance to present information that the three of us feel passionate about as well as check out an incredible conference and the great city of Austin! We decided to go big or go home! ----A little Texas humor there!
quicksmallgroups.weebly.com/ I am about to embark on my National Board Renewal year. I will be working very hard doubling up doing my National Board Renewal while juggling a brand new year of 6th Grade South Carolina Standards. I am nervous and excited at the same time. :)
Well another year is about to start with our first unit--Energy! I love the energy unit. I will be training our new HCS teachers to the 6th grade at my school with another colleague. I always love to show ways to teach our units with a fun and innovative approach.
